Maine Community College System Board of Trustees to Meet at SMCC

AUGUSTA , Me. - A regularly-scheduled meeting of the Maine Community College System (MCCS) Board of Trustees will be held next Wednesday, January 25th, at Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) in South Portland. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be held in the Peter A. McKernan Hospitality Center.
At the meeting, MCCS President John Fitzsimmons will brief the Board on the Governor’s proposed supplemental budget for the System.
Also on the agenda is consideration of a contract with Pizzagalli Construction Company to move forward with the design phase of the System’s residence hall project. Under the project, new residence halls will be constructed at SMCC, Central Maine Community College in Auburn, and Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. The project is being financed through revenue bonding, to be paid back by housing fees paid by residential life students.
Trustees will also recognize SMCC students who recently competed in a regional math competition.
