MAINE TECHNICAL COLLEGES GRADUATE 1,672 STUDENTS AT CEREMONIES THIS MONTH

AUGUSTA, Maine A total of 1,672 students will graduate from Maine's seven Technical Colleges at commencement ceremonies around the state this month. It will be the last group of "technical college" graduates since the colleges' names will change to "community college" July 1. Systemwide, the number of graduates is up nine percent over last year.
Speakers at this year's commencement exercises, as well as the times and dates, are as follows (locations are on campus unless otherwise noted):
Friday, May 9
Central Maine Technical College, Auburn, 2 pm (270 graduates)
Speaker: Beverly Daggett, President of the Maine Senate
Friday, May 16
Washington County Technical College, Calais, 1 pm (160 graduates)
Speaker: U.S. Army General (Retired) Peter Berry
Kennebec Valley Technical College , Fairfield, 7 pm (316 graduates)
Speaker: U.S. Senator Susan M. Collins
Location: Augusta Civic Center, Augusta
Saturday, May 17
Eastern Maine Technical College, Bangor, 2 ceremonies: 10 am and 2 pm (257 graduates
