AUGUSTA, ME—Governor John Baldacci will participate in a press conference on Wednesday, September 27, at 2 p.m. at Central Maine Community College in Auburn to announce continued dramatic enrollment growth in Maine's community college system. The press conference will be held in CMCC’s cafeteria, located on the first floor of Jalbert Hall.
The press conference will follow a regularly scheduled meeting of the Maine Community College System (MCCS) Board of Trustees. Please note: The board meeting, originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m., will instead begin at 12:45 p.m. in Conference Room 314 of Jalbert Hall.
The board meeting will include updates from the seven colleges and a resolution to approve the System's biennial budget request for fiscal years 2008 and 2009. The meeting will include presentation of the first Brian C. Thayer Memorial Scholarship, given in honor of a long-time MCCS trustee who died earlier this year. It will also include a vote to accept a number of gifts to the MCCS.
