Info for Alfond Training Grads

Congratulations on completing your Alfond workforce training program at a Maine community college!

Continue your success and earn a college degree.

  • Get started by using your scholarship to enroll in any two courses in our degree and certificate programs.
  • Check out our searchable systemwide program list to see what courses are available that build on the work you’ve already done. (Several examples are listed below.)
  • Learn how to apply to a Maine community college.
  • Want some help with next steps? Contact your college coach (below) with any questions. (Be sure to mention that you completed Alfond workforce training!)

Certificate and Degree Opportunities:

If you completed Computer Support training, you could study to earn a certificate in help desk and user support or an associate degree in computer technology at CMCC; or an associate degree in information technology at SMCC or YCCC.

If you completed medical assisting training, you could continue on to earn an associate degree in medical assisting at any of our colleges or explore the many other health care degree programs offered at our colleges.

If you completed welding training, you could study to earn a certificate in welding technology at EMCC, KVCC, NMCC, or WCCC, or an associate degree at EMCC. Welding training is also great preparation for any of our skilled trades programs.
