Your journey is just beginning. Each year hundreds of our students transfer to four-year colleges and universities around the country. Many stay right here in Maine, where a new transfer agreements with the University of Maine System and six private colleges in Maine make it easier than ever to save time and money.

The University of Maine System

  • Transfer ME Program: Guaranteed transfer to UMS colleges. No application paperwork, no fees.
  • Black Bear Advantage: Co-enroll at the University of Maine while you’re still in community college, with guaranteed transfer after graduation.
  • Guaranteed Block Transfer: Guaranteed block transfer of up to 35 credits in general education courses to any UMS college

 

A Private College in Maine

  • Maine Transfer Guarantee: Associate degree graduates are guaranteed admission to College of the Atlantic, Husson University, St. Joseph’s College of Maine, Thomas College, Unity Environmental University, and the University of New England.
  • Another Private College: We have transfer pathways to other private colleges in Maine. Ask your advisor for information about what works for you.

Transfer to a Maine community college.

Students interested in transferring credit to a Maine community college or earning credit for other work and learning experiences should start by contacting the admissions office at the college they are interested in attending. We’re here to help you find ways to use as many of the credits you’ve already earned as we can.

Reverse Credit Transfer

Earn your associate degree or certificate while pursuing your bachelor’s degree. If you transfer to one of Maine’s public universities before completing your associate degree or certificate at a Maine community college, you may be able to transfer credits earned at the university back to your community college to satisfy associate degree or certificate requirements.
