Maine community college system could double nursing grads each year through proposed bill

PORTLAND (WGME) — As health care providers struggle with staffing shortages, some are hoping that a big boost in community college funding will help.

A Maine State Senator will propose an extra $2.5 million to go to the system for its nursing program.

Currently, about 230 nurses graduate from the system each year. The bill would help double that number.
