Maine’s Community Colleges to announce new approach to workforce training, historic investment in Maine’s frontline workers

AUGUSTA, ME – The Maine Community College System and the Foundation for Maine’s Community Colleges will hold a press conference on Tuesday, October 5, to announce a transformative new approach to workforce training at Maine’s community colleges. This initiative is backed by a historic financial investment in training for Maine’s frontline workers.

Speakers for the event:

  • The Honorable Janet T. Mills, Governor of Maine
  • The Honorable John R. McKernan, Jr., former Governor of Maine
  • Greg Powell, Chairman of the Board of the Harold Alfond Foundation
  • David Daigler, President of the Maine Community College System

Schedule:

10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5: Press conference at Southern Maine Community College, held outside 54 Lighthouse Circle, South Portland. Although the press conference is scheduled to be held outside, a tent will be available in the event of inclement weather. The event will also be streamed online.

11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5: An online media availability will be held via ZOOM, to accommodate media unable to attend in person.
