Free community college resources
Free college is here – and that’s great news for your students!
Recent high school graduates qualify for the Maine Free College Scholarship and pay ZERO tuition! To qualify, students need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, have lived in Maine for 12 months immediately prior to admission and while enrolled, file the FAFSA, and enroll in a degree or certificate program.
Here are some Free College resources to share with them!
- Go to FreeCommunityCollegeMaine.com and have students fill out the inquiry form – a college advisor will get in touch with them right away!
- Free College — How It Works flyer — Print and post around the school – share with teachers, coaches and club/activity leaders!
- Free College Flyer for Adult Education — Students who earn their HiSET or other high school equivalency diploma also qualify.

- MCCS program list — Not everyone knows what they can study at a community college. Trades. Business. Health Care. Public Safety. Cybersecurity. E-sports management. Hospitality. The list goes on! Take special note of one-year certificates for students interested in getting trained quick!
