The Rural Maine Child Care Scholarship

Helping you juggle family commitments and your dream of a college education

The Rural Maine Child Care Scholarship is designed to help students living in rural Maine who need assistance with the cost of child care in order to attend a Maine community college.

Between 100 and 150 child care scholarships will be available to rural Maine students each academic year. The scholarships range from $35 to $100 a week, based on need. *

To qualify, students must declare that they have need for financial assistance and be a Maine resident living in a rural community. To see if your town qualifies as rural, go here. Students can be enrolled full time, part time, or in a single course, including non-credit courses leading to a credential.

The scholarship can be used to cover child care delivered by a licensed child care provider or by a friend, neighbor, or family member (other than parent) not living in the same household.
