The Rural Maine Child Care Scholarship

The Rural Maine Child Care Scholarship is designed to help students living in rural Maine who need assistance with the cost of child care in order to attend a Maine community college. Between 100 and 150 child care scholarships will be available to rural Maine students during the 2008-2009 academic year. The scholarships range from $35 to $100 a week, based on need. * Eligibility To qualify, students must declare that they have need for financial assistance and be a Maine resident living in a rural community. To see if your town qualifies as rural, go here. Students can be enrolled full time, part time, or in a single course, including non-credit courses leading to a credential. |
Coverage
The scholarship can be used to cover child care delivered by a licensed child care provider or by a friend, neighbor, or family member (other than parent) not living in the same household.
