Start here, then transfer
Maine's Community Colleges are a great place to start college and then transfer. You can save on your first two years of college, and get lots of support to help you succeed.
The Community Colleges have developed dozens of transfer agreements with four year colleges and universities including Maine's seven universities, Husson College, Maine Maritime Academy, St. Joseph's College, Thomas College, Unity College and others.
Also check out AdvantageU, a new guaranteed admission program that allows MCCS students, upon completion of an associate degree in Liberal Studies, guaranteed admission to any University of Maine institution. You can take foundation courses in our Liberal Studies program and take advantage of our low tuition while exploring many career fields.
Transfer agreements are continually being developed and updated, so check with your Community College advisor for the most up-to-date information. Every course in a Community College program may not transfer to the four-year programs listed below. Talk with your advisor to discuss your transfer goals and to develop an academic plan that gives you the greatest transfer opportunity.
Students who have earned college credits from other regionally accredited colleges may transfer credits prior to beginning their program of study. Check with your admissions office to find out what information is needed to evaluate the transfer of credit.
